Styes are treated in the Comprehensive Ophthalmology Faculty Practice


Stye

Infection of Zeis's or Moll's glands (both located near the eyelashes) by Staphylococcus aureus.


Signs and Symptoms

  • Pain
  • Redness
 

Treatment and Prevention

  • Warm compress applied for 15 minutes 3-4 times daily
  • Instillation of sulfonamide or antibiotic ointment
