Hyperopia is treated in the Contact Lens Service, the Comprehensive Ophthalmology Faculty Practice and the Laser Vision Correction Service

Hyperopia (farsightedness)

Farsightedness, a condition in which a person cannot see near or close objects clearly, usually occurs when an eyeball is smaller than normal not allowing light rays to focus properly on the retina resulting in blurred vision.

Signs and Symptoms

  • Blurred vision, inability to see near objects clearly
